Kathleen Presiado Urquidez, CPA, CFE, President and Managing Partner

Graduated B.S. in Business Administration, concentration in accounting and finance from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, 1988.

Certified Public Accountant, State of California, December 1993.

Thirty-one years public accounting experience with primary emphasis in non-profit and for-profit audits, review and compilations. Specialization in accounting software installations and training. Has directed numerous audits, review and accounting engagements of varying sizes and complexities.

Firm responsibility for audit and review services including technical expertise and compliance with quality peer review requirements. Experience in implementing internal controls and performing internal control audits. Directed audits for-profit organizations, professional services, manufacturing, escrow services, real estate mortgage services, retail and wholesale.  Additional audits and reviews for non-profit organizations, such as private schools, member organizations, veteran organizations, operating enterprises and religious foundations.

Experience includes servicing clientele in the real estate mortgage industry, hospitality industry, non-profit organizations, foundations and variety of small businesses.

Computer software expertise includes various tax packages including CCH and Lacerte; accounting packages including QuickBooks, Sageworks, and Peachtree Software.  Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor.  Installation of various accounting software, including client training and establishing policies and procedures to ensure quality control.

Member of California Society of CPAs and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Board Member of the National Association of Women Business Owners (2008-2015). Member of the Orange County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Member and Past Treasurer of National Latina Business Women’s Association Orange County. Past President of the St. Bonaventure School Board, Past President of Active 20-30, Beach Cities #1040.

Lucy Curiel, CPA, Tax Manager

Lucy Curiel, CPA, MBT has been a CPA for 21 years.  She has a Bachelor in Business Administration with an Option in Accounting from California State University, Los Angeles.  Her Master of Science in Taxation was obtained from Golden Gate University.

Her areas of expertise include Business, Individual and Trust income tax preparation for various industries.  She also represents clients in tax examinations from taxing authorities.

She is well versed in audits, reviews, and compilation of financial statements.

Christopher R. Whelpley, CPA, Senior Tax Accountant

Graduated with a B. S. in Economics and Business Administration from St. Mary’ s College of California, Moraga, CA in 2007.

Graduated with a MBA from Concordia University, Irvine, CA in 2009.

Certified Public Accountant, State of Washington 2016, State of California 2017.

Four years of public accounting experience with a main emphasis in taxation. Currently, engaged in audit activities as a staff accountant.

Experienced tax preparation of individual, trust, non- profit, and small business income tax returns in the construction, manufacturing, retailing, and industrial industries.

Seven years of financial industry knowledge as a manager at two major financial institutions.
Member of the California Society of CPAs, AICPA, as well as Beta Alpha Psi.

Sahil Patel, Staff Tax Accountant

Graduated with a B.S. in Accounting from California State University, Long Beach in 2019.

Three years of public accounting experience with a main emphasis in taxation. Currently working on becoming an Enrolled Agent and pursuing a Master of Science in Taxation.

Experienced in tax preparation of individuals, small business income tax returns, partnerships, and corporations in consulting, insurance, real estate, and medical industries.

Andrew Abellanosa, Staff Tax Accountant

Graduated with a B.S. in Accounting from California State University, Long Beach in 2019.

Three years of public accounting experience with a main emphasis on taxation. Currently working on becoming an Enrolled Agent and becoming a Certified Financial Planner with an emphasis in tax & investment planning thereafter.

Experienced in the tax preparation of individuals, partnerships, and small businesses like real estate, consulting, and various franchises.

Monica Quintero, Staff Accountant

Monica has 10 years of experience in all facets of accounting including bookkeeping, compilation, reviews, and audit services. She has assisted clients in all industries and is familiar with their different software. Monica often performs accounting services offsite to assist with client’s different needs. She has a bachelor’ s degree in accountancy from California State University, Long Beach and has worked with our firm for over 15 years.

Kimberly Barrientos, Staff Accountant

Kimberly has over 25 years of experience in all facets of accounting duties including bookkeeping, sales tax and payroll tax services. She also assists in the preparation of individual tax returns. She has worked with our firm for over 8 years.

Elba has been with the firm two years.  Elba’s friendly voice will greet our clients and direct our clients to the appropriate staff.

Laura

Laura Elizalde, Office Manager

Laura has been with the firm for 23 years.  She served as administrative assistant for 21 years, then recently moved to the position of our office manager.  She has had the most client interface and is the friendly voice that guides our clients through our processes.
